On October 21-22, 2017 in Kiev, the final stage of the All-Ukrainian Hackathon “Hack4Good: increasing the number of girls in STEM through IT technologies” took place.
Hackaton organizers: Center for Development of Corporate Social Responsibility and UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, with the financial support of the Austrian Embassy in Kiev, as well as in partnership with SAP Ukraine and MacPaw. EQUAL-IST project was the information partner of Hackaton at S. Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics (KhNUE).
Within the frame of KhNUE Gender Equality Plan implementation, three female students of Economic Informatics Faculty of S. Kuznets KhNUE participated in this event: Samoylenko Olesya, Erofeeva Daria and Dubovskaya Alla. And as a part of the “Girl IT” team, our girls won the first place and received a certificate in the amount of 25,000 UAH for further implementation of their idea – to create a mobile application for girls interested in STEM-specialties. With the help of location tags the application will allow users to get acquainted, exchange new ideas and experience for creating joint projects.
We congratulate the IT Students of S. Kuznets KhNUE and wish them the soonest implementation of their idea and further successful IT-career development!
