What is EURAXESS?
EURAXESS – Researchers in Motion is a unique pan-European initiative delivering information and support services to professional researchers. Backed by the European Union and its Member States, it supports researcher mobility and career development, while enhancing scientific collaboration between Europe and the world.
EQUAL-IST AND EURAXESS: Establishing synergies
First EQUAL-IST Webinar was organised to introduce the EURAXESS initiative and network to the EQUAL-IST project partners, as well as to discuss the areas for collaboration between EURAXESS and EQUAL-IST.
EQUAL-IST AND EURAXESS: Common actions
- Close collaboration to ensure a wide dissemination of the Idea Crowdsourcing Platform.
A ground-breaking Idea Crowdsourcing Platform for promoting gender equality and diversity is currently being developed within the EQUAL-IST project and will be launched in 2017. The platform will be specifically targeted at research institutions and will collect ideas and trigger discussions about promising initiatives for promoting gender equality and diversity. The platform will provide value for the EQUAL-IST project and beyond by facilitating the participatory co-design of Gender Equality Plans. The platform will encourage contribution not only from the professors, researchers, administrative staff, and students of a respective research institution, but also from external stakeholders. With a strong network around Europe and beyond, EURAXESS will disseminate the invitation for contribution to the platform to the largest possible audience of external stakeholders.
- Close collaboration to endorse the European Charter & Code for Researchers by the EQUAL-IST project partners.
The EQUAL-IST project partners will explore the opportunities to endorse the EURAXESS European Charter & Code for Researchers to add credibility to the tailored Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) implemented within the EQUAL-IST project. The design of GEPs, in turn, will be informed by the gender non-discrimination and work-life balance measures included in the Charter & Code. Moreover, the questions related to gender equality from the EURAXESS HRS4R self-assessment survey (Human Resources Strategy for Researchers) were included in the gender auditing methodology developed within the EQUAL-IST project. The methodology will be followed by all EQUAL-IST project partners for assessing the internal state of the art in terms of gender equality policies.
